My pathetic experiences at my first review has forced me to write such a blog making out a fool of myself.
First of all i have to give this small introduction. My topic for my final year project is "Vague Description Generation and Categorization of web pages". It itself sounds vague isnt it. We too thought the same but as our project guide insisted we had to choose this as the title.
Next part of the scene came when we got our presentation ready. I am a colour freak and like to experiment creepy combinations. My ppt of black background was a ironic hit with in our class(hostelers to be specific). But my team mate changed the colours just a day before and saved a part of the humiliation which was ready for us the next day.
Another point to be mentioned is we got our signature from our project guide for the documents half an hour before the review begun.
And now comes the main part. Though my team mate had changed the black background and other colours, i had sneaked in rainbow coloured title page.
Once the review begun, the first comment coming from our staff was no such colours allowed and both my team mates turned spontaneously towars me. Next came the title. The review panel ignored all other slides and asked the title justification. We were trying earnestly to save ourselves while or guide was dumbstruck at this comment "Why vague why not good description". The next turn of event was another staff who had booked the hall came and asked us to leave and to my horror the panel stood up right in the middle of our explanation and started leaving the room and the staff who wanted the room said "avanga pinadiye poi explain panunga". Next in the other room the panel critically commented on the project inspite of the fact that they had till now seeing the title slide and nothing else.
And at last incredibly the unexpected thing happened. Guess what, our project was accepted and we were asked to submit another document in 10 minutes.. ;)
